Open Studio Membership Prerequisite This intermediate course serves as the gateway qualification for the SOYOU Ceramics Open Studio membership.
Membership eligibility is exclusively granted to those who have taken wheel-throwing classes at SOYOU Ceramics Studio.
Membership Benefits:
Unlimited studio access during membership hours (subject to fired piece limits and minimum firing requirements). Since joining the open studio membership requires the ability to handle all studio processes independently, taking this course is mandatory if you are transitioning from a beginner class or have experience from another studio.

Enjoy unlimited open studio access during studio operating hours throughout the 4-week course to freely practice and work on your projects.

Curriculum:
This course is designed for students who have basic experience but want to further refine their skills, providing a solid foundation for independent practice. Instructors tailor the lessons to each student's skill level and provide 1:1 custom guidance on challenging techniques. Throughout this course, you will learn essential working processes including clay storage, wedging, detailed trimming, drying, and glazing methods.

Week 1: Basic Wheel Throwing Create 5 or more ceramic pieces (e.g., cups, bowls) as your class assignment.

Week 2: Drying Methods & Detailed Trimming Learn proper drying techniques and advanced trimming methods.

Week 3: Clay Storage & Wedging Techniques Master proper clay preservation and wedging methods.

Week 4: Glaze Theory & Glazing Class Understand the basic principles of glaze and learn how to apply glazes firsthand.
4-Week Course Cancellation Policy
Non-refundable. However, you will receive a full refund if you cancel up to 10 days before the class starts. Make-up Class Policy: One free make-up class is provided per session. Make-up classes must be scheduled within the respective session or during designated make-up times. Please email soyouceramics@gmail.com before your missed class to schedule a make-up session.

No refunds. You may cancel for full credit up until 10 days before the start of class.
One complimentary makeup class per session is included. Makeup classes must be scheduled within the session or during designated makeup times. Please email soyouceramics@gmail.com before your missed class to schedule a makeup.
